Dear Educators,

FreakleyIt is my pleasure to share with you the seventh issue of Army Education News & Updates. I’m proud to announce that the U.S. Army, in partnership with the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE), recently launched a new pilot education program, Project Partnership for All Students’ Success (PASS).

In this issue, I encourage you to read and learn more about the launch and the Project PASS program. Project PASS was created to strategically target and improve communities and schools with high drop-out rates. The program offers Junior Leadership Corps (JLC) elective courses and after-school activities for middle school students and a JROTC program to develop character and leadership for high school students.  Additionally, a Project PASS community coordinator at each site is working to deliver additional wrap-around services.  This pilot program aims to keep students in school and helps them become college- and career- ready upon high school graduation. This program is one example of the many ways the U.S. Army continues to partner with the education community to find actionable solutions to ensuring the future success of our Nation’s youth.

Thank you for your strong and unyielding commitment to America’s youth and their future success.

Army Strong!

Sincerely,

Lieutenant General Benjamin C. Freakley
Commanding General
U.S. Army Accessions Command
