The Army’s Commitment to Education

FreakleyIt is my pleasure to present to you the third issue of Army Education News & Updates. The U.S. Army has a proud, steadfast and long-standing commitment to education. The Army not only encourages furthering the education of its Soldiers but is also strongly committed to the success of America’s youth. Because of this commitment, the Army sponsors numerous programs to ensure today’s youth have the resources necessary to achieve life-long success. The U.S. Army is one of the most significant investors in education in the nation.

Well-prepared students who move forward to achieve post-secondary success are integral to the future of our communities, the prosperity of our economy, the readiness of our workforce and the strength of our national security. The U.S. Army’s underlying mission is to motivate, educate, train and develop America’s youth to become the leaders, decision makers and civic contributors of tomorrow.

Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE)

The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for successful careers.


NHRA Youth & Education Services (Y.E.S.)

NHRAThe NHRA's Youth & Education Services (Y.E.S.) program presented by the U.S. Army is motorsports' first and only full-time program devoted exclusively to educational programming. The Y.E.S. program was created in 1989 as a tool to connect education and drag racing. This effort assists teachers and students in determining a course of action to help young people achieve their long-term career goals.

Health Occupations Students of America, Inc. and the U.S. Army Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Health Occupations Students of America, Inc.“HOSA is proud to partner with the U.S. Army to demonstrate the available career opportunities and prepare students for professions in the health care field,” said Jim Koeninger, Executive Director of HOSA. “Our organizations share a common goal: to provide young people with the opportunities, education, training and leadership skills they need to succeed.”
