PILC students learn how to exercise — the Army way

South Dakota National Guard Soldiers gave a lesson to about 30 young people who ran, did pushups and even got to chase each other around the gym Monday morning. The rising fourth graders at the Pierre Indian Learning Center learned about exercising the Army way. The day was a way for the National Guard to say thank you to the community for providing housing to the Soldiers and Officers while they were in town for training, said 2nd Lt. Michael Crumb. About 400 Soldiers are in Pierre as part of the annual Golden Coyote training exercise, which is based in the Black Hills. Some of them have stayed at the PILC last week and this week. Read more
